Abstract

lonely, moody, easily anxious, nervous, impulsive and aggressive. This study describes the role of parenting in children's emotional development in PAUD in Tamansari District. The research method used is a qualitative research method with data collection techniques using the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using Miles and Huberman analysis with data reduction steps, data presentation and verification or conclusions. The findings of this study are that parenting styles that play a role in children's emotional development are how they guide and direct children to obey parental rules; provide opportunities for children to express their feelings; give rewards and praise when the child does good or excels; provide opportunities for children to express emotions when angry, happy or sad; parents provide rules, boundaries and discuss for all the wishes of the child; and also parents teach to be more patient.

The conclusion of this study is that the application of parenting provided by parents and teachers has a major effect on children's emotional development. Therefore, parents and teachers must establish good cooperation. This study provides input for future researchers to conduct further research on the application of more appropriate parenting styles to children's emotional development which can be done by guiding and directing children according to their age stages.
